Milton Ontario Weekend Events

The Weekender is MiltonSearch.com’s guide to what’s on in Milton over the weekend, published every Friday. If you have an event you’d like considered, email all of its details—as well as images, if you’ve got any—to info@miltonsearch.com or via our submit an event form. Cheers!

After a few slow weekends around town, things are starting to pick up again as we head full-steam into the heart of the Winter season — even if the amount of snowfall (or lack thereof) doesn’t make it feel that way.

On Friday night, as part of the regular Jameel de Stephano salon customer get together, Visalus Health Sciences will be launching a contest called the Milton Mommy Makeover. We want to help as many Milton Moms to get healthy in 2012 and to win a fantastic makeover prize donated by Jameel de Stephano salon and other great prizes.

The ‘A View from Here’ exhibit at the Holcim Gallery (at the Milton Centre for the Arts), featuring landscapes by local artists depicting Milton and its surrounding areas is into its last weekend, wrapping up Sunday.

Each Friday and Saturday through until February 25th, Crawford Lake is hosting Moonlight Showshoe Hikes, a guided snowshoe hike through Crawford’s beautiful scenery, beginning with an introduction to snowshoeing and ending with a fireside gathering and hot chocolate.

We should also mention that from now until February 19th, it’s the Season of the Snowsnake at Crawford Lake, where they’ll be running guided tours of Iroquoian Village, guided winter survival hikes, crafts and discovery hunts.

The Adult Owl Prowl is also on this weekend out at Mountsberg between 7 and 9pm — a winter night hike to search for wild local owls. During the daylight hours at Mountsberg, they’re offering horse-drawn sleigh rides.

On Saturday night at the Centre for the Arts, it’s ‘The Beatlers — A Tribute to the Beatles Touring Years’ starting at 8pm, a show which will take you from their 1st appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show through to the record-breaking Shea Stadium concert.

On Sunday, the Lowville Winter Games are on at Lowville Park on Guelph Line. What do Lowville’s Winter Games include, you ask? Fabulous food, fun, entertainment, crafts and games, the Bur Bear Adventure Challenge, the Human Gyroscope and Body Zorbs. See, we knew you’d be interested!

If you’re headed out to the movies, be sure to check out the up-to-date Milton and west-end GTA movie showtimes as well as the latest movie reviews and trailers.
