If getting out into the great outdoors is your thing, check out Conservation Halton’s winter schedule, although be forewarned that it’s going to be cold this weekend with high temperatures of only -8 and -11 Celcius on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Another option is to head out to Glen Eden for some skiing and snowboarding.

Tonight at the Leisure Centre it’s MLC Fridays. This week, admission is $4.50 for Game Show night where you can try your hand at your favourite game shows.

A comprehensive, two-day first aid and CPR training course kicks off Saturday morning at the Superstore.

If you’re looking for somewhere to take your restless children, Milton Monkeys Kids Club celebrates their fifth anniversary with a Pirates and Princesses party.

Saturday is Family Literacy Day. Children 4 and up are invited for an afternoon of fun and games at both the Central Library and Beaty Branch locations.

Looking for something a little more adult-friendly? Tell me this doesn’t fit the bill nicely: join the Milton & District Pipes & Drums and the live band “Fare Enuff” at Milton Memorial Arena Saturday night for a lively evening of celebration & song in honour of Scotland’s national poet, Robbie Burns.

On Sunday, the new fitness facility Cirque du Play celebrates its Grand Opening by opening its doors free to the public. Donations will be accepted and will go towards the Rick Jeffery Kids Foundation.

And if staying warm and hitting the movies is more your speed on this bitterly cold weekend, be sure to check out the up-to-date Milton and west-end GTA movie showtimes as well as the latest movie reviews and trailers.
