My son attends Hawthorne Village Public School and my daughter starts there next year in JK. We were soooo hopeful that HVPS would be chosen for all-day kindergarten to cut down on our daycare costs but alas, I don’t think a school with 16 kindergarten classes is really an option at this point.

Our hope is that the two new schools in the Escarpment developments will reduce the student population at HVPS starting next year — 16 kindergarten classes and 9 grade 1 classes is a bit insane. I think many of the families who have moved to the Escarpment from Hawthorne Village are still taking their kids to HVPS because of the delay in the new schools opening (as for the fact that Escarpment residents should be sending their kids to other schools within Milton, not HVPS, well, we won’t go there…).
